I cannot understand this at all. It just seems like complete nonsense .

    Un petit d'un petit,
    cette une a volle,
    un petit d'un petit,
    hât a gré folle!

What is the meaning of it?

    No wonder :D

Try saying it out loud (best with a bit of the English accent) while reading thhis English rhyme.

    Humpty Dumpty
    Sat on a wall.
    Humpty Dumpty
    Had a great fall.

    Another version:
    Un petit d'un petit,
    S'étonne aux Halles.
    Un petit d'un petit,
    Ah! degrés te fallent
    Indolent qui ne sort cesse
    Indolent qui ne se mène
    Qu'importe un petit d'un petit
    Tout Gai de Reguennes!
