What do I need to sign on?

    Hey,

I will be signing on for the 2nd time on Tuesday next.

Last time I had a yellow card but it says its invalid after 31 August.

Can I go there and show them my ID and SW card - will that be enough?

Also, I am supposed to go between 2pm and 4pm. If I went in at 11am could I sign on or are they very strict about the times?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Just to clarify: you only have the yellow temporary SW card, which expired 31 August, and have not yet recieved the white permanent SW card?

If so, go in on Monday and explain to them that you are still waiting for your permanent card and this one is no longer valid. I imagine they would either issue you a new yellow card, or fast track you for a permanent one.

That said, I don't think there'd be much problem if you went in to sign on with the expired paper on Tuesday and then asked them about the permanent card there, saving you a trip down.

As for the sign on times, I'm not sure how strict they are on them. I think it's so that the line ups are staggered throughout the day, with not everyone showing up at the same time. They'd likely let you sign on at 11am but I don't know for sure. If they don't you can always come back at 2, you know? I used to be supposed to sign on at 10, and I'd usually get there around 10:30 just because the line was a lot shorter at that time.

By the white card I assume you mean the card I swipe at the post office??
It states SOCIAL SERVICES CARD at the front!

I have this, the yellow card was just telling when I should first sign on - I got it with my letter saying I was approved for JSA etc.

Yeah I'll call in at 11 and if not I can come back at 2.

Thanks a lot for your advice.

Yeah you just need the white card that you use to collect your payment at the post office :)
