    Hi,

It's something I've noticed on threads in this forum more and more recently. People seem to frequently be attending movie premieres!

Well it's something I'v e never done but would certainly love to do in the future.

So how does one go about getting tickets to a premiere-can you buy them, win them, do you have to "know" someone. Any assistance much appreciated!

I'd say people are attending preview screenings more so that 'Premiers'

I don't think there are many full on red carpet premiers here anymore.

    Hi there,

I went to one premiere over the summer. I got tickets through work!

Perhaps if you call up cinemas, they'd give you information on how to get into premieres? They might have advance booking for them or something?

In the past year I've been to an Irish Premiere (Inglourious Basterds) which I won tickets to in a competition and a press preview screening (Yes Man) which I got a ticket off a friend of a friend 'in the bizness'.
Often, you just gotta be in teh right place at the right time.

I've been to a couple of previews: Deathproof with a QA with Tarantino in the Savoy and Serenity with a QA by 2 actors and the producer. The Deathproof one I found out about on Boards actually and the Serenity one from the Firefly fanclub. Don't think I'll be going to a cannes premiere soon (Paris Hilton has a restraining order for me)

Movies.ie have competitions for screenings all the time. They're generally just a ticket into the show. I was at the Deathproof premier a while ago and that had Quentin Tarantino at it, and you got to go to the Jameson Distilelry to have a few drinks afterwards, and I think that was Movies.ie too (others here were probably at it too and can say if it was or not).

Alos, you hear the odd thing on the radio. For the Casino Royale permier, they were selling tickets for €80 each (for charity) and that included the film, a goody bag and free drinks before and after it. I only heard of it by chance, so just keep an ear out is all you can really do.

Get them through work for review purposes I'm afraid but they're often on first thing in the morning so don't bother going! Defo go to the night-time ones though@

You get a lot of premieres during the various film festivals.

These would be the full on red carpet gala events.

You just buy the tickets as you would other festival screenings, although they tend to sell out fast.

You can usually get them through competitions in Metro (or other newspapers) or on entertainment.ie or movies.ie. Also keep an eye on facebook - you can often get them on the fan pages for the films.
