Extra module - maths or french

    doing business and law and have to pick an extra module, either maths and statistics or french. Has anyone done any of these as an extra module and what are they like?

    are you better at languages or maths? have you done french before? pass o honours maths for leaving?
    id be taking the matsh option but thats just personal preferance

    Both languages and maths would be my best subjects. Did honours maths and french for leaving cert.

    The way I'd base it on is that in Business you probably will be doing some form of maths. Basic maths at least. If you like doing maths and lots of it then maths may be your thing.

    However if you feel you might get sick of maths and would want to do something different, then French could be good. Plus you could add it to your qualifications.

    Firstly, statistics isn't real maths. Secondly, did you do probability/statistics before. What year are you in? Is the stats with the stats department or with BESS?

    did probability before but not statistics

    going into first year and it doesnt say which department its with

    Although i'm not an authority on the subject, I think its probably with the BESS students. Assuming you're equally adept at both French and Maths, I'd go for the maths. Its less work and easier to catch up if you fall behind.
