I seen this in the Irish Times yesterday and thought it sounded like a great laugh. The plan is to try get the new Swan cinema in Rathmines to show The Rocky Horror Picture Show but they need lots of signatures to persuade Fox to re-release it:

eh? they don't need it re-released....It has never been pulled by Fox from its original 1975 release. It's shown every friday and saturday night in new york and hosts of other cities around the world for the past 30 years. Who ever is planning on running it just needs to get a copy of the print.

EDIT - just read the petition - they are looking for a digital print not a re-release of the film. Have to say I don't see the point of going to all that effort, why not just get an original print and show that? Does this cinema only have digital projectors?

    I signed it anyway.

The Swan must only have digital projectors. Otherwise I dont see why they cant get the regular print.

If you can’t wait for this to happen apparently there’s a terrific version of this going to be in the Live Room in Portmarnock on 22nd & 23rd October! Properly choreographed routines, free cocktails, goodie bags – the works!
