It is with tears in my eyes I start this thread. One of the 2 young jockeys murdered by an arsonist in the north of England was Jamie Kyne. This boy was an apprentice who would have been a champion jockey for many years. His family live in Galway.A young woman named Jan Wilson was also murdered.May they rest in peace, may their families get strength from God and may the scum who took their young lives suffer eternal pain and suffering,in this world and the next.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson until they charge him I'd sooner hold off from emotive language. Remembering the loss of two young lives is enough for now

    Shocked at this also.

I backed him dozens of times and had many wins thanks to him. He was one of those jockies that you were glad to see was on board a horse you fancied.

Blue Tomatoe is one that sticks out.

It is just total cruel irony, allthough quite apt, that his last ride was on a horse called 'Future Gem' ..

    RIP

Yes but the point is that this is not a murder inquiry as of now, so it's best to refrain from that sort of emotive language until the facts of the case become a bit clearer.

Anyway RIP both of them, Jamie Kyne was potentially a future star and it's a very tragic way for two young people to go.

And btw, zero marks for a hopeless thread title.

Not quite as clear cut as some may have thought with the early arrest
THE detective leading the investigation into the fire which claimed the lives of apprentice jockeys Jamie Kyne and Jan Wilson said on Tuesday that they are "keeping an open mind" over the cause of incident.

Detective Superintendent Alan Carey reiterated that the fire was being treatedas suspicious.

However, he said: "We are keeping an open mind while we gather all the facts and examine the full circumstances surrounding this tragic accident. Only when these enquiries have been completed will we be in a position to determine the cause of the fire."

Police have renewed their appeal for people in the area of Buckrose Court in Malton at the time of the fire to come forward.

In a statement on Wednesday, North Yorkshire Police said: "Officers are urging every person - whether a witness of not- who was in the area of the fire scene between 1.45 and 2.15am on Saturday to come forward as a matter of urgency. It is vital that these people contact police as soon as possible."

Post-mortems have been conducted and the inquests will be opened and adjourned in due course.
