    Howdy lads just wondering is there any special licence needed for the above? Have a bit of time on my hands now(unemployed) so wouldnt mind giving it crack.. Do i just need land permission with a river running through it etc.. Any help much appreciated im not a member of a gun club just obtained my licence through land owners etc..A friend was telling me you can rent a boat and spend a day shooting in the middlands is this true??

    You could make an application for a foreshore permit which will allow you to hunt the foreshore between high and low water marks and any state owned lakes in your area.

    There is a list of the state owned lakes on the second page of the application. As far as renting a boat is concerned, there is a multitude of boats available for hire around the great Irish lakes, you wont have a problem there as they cater for the tourist fishing industry.
    If you are going to walk up ducks on rivers then youll need access to the lands youll have to cross, however your first problem will be to find out where the ducks are and where they are feeding at night, this is your first problem. I cant help you with that end:D
