Just buy the game of the year edition. Won't cost much and has all the DLC on it

The last thing I read about it was that Broken Steel would be the first DLC released and it will be out before the end of September.

Will the DLCs for Fall Out 3 fix the save problem that was caused by the last update for the game (patch)?

    Cheers

Going to trade in my copy of Fallout 3 and get the Game of the Year Edition.

Going to trade in my copy of Fallout 3 and get the Game of the Year Edition.

I might do the same myself. A 9th October release date according to Play.

Did anybody else notice that you can see all the new trophies that are coming out? It happens when you compare trophies with someone and go to Fallout 3, it has all the new trophies there.

I am the same way. Not wanting to get ass-***** by buying them all digitally at 10e+ a pop.

I am thinking I will trade it in to XV soon, if I wait til it is out I might get even less for it. Wonder what Xv would gimmie in credit for F3 (ps3) right now?

with oblivion game of the year edition the updates were stored to hdd then the original game was only needed so theoretically you could if you had original fallout3 buy/rent the game of the year edition and then return for credit or just normally if rented

Fallout 3 DLC has been dated for the PS3.
The first DLC to hit the PS3 version of Fallout 3 will be Broken Steel, available Sept. 24. That will be followed by Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt on Oct. 1, and Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta on Oct. 8.

    Crazy announcement.

Who in their right mind wouldn't ait for the GOTY?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 764 ✭✭✭horsebox09

Bethesda really messed up on this, hardly anybody will buy the dlc with the game of the year edition coming out in a few weeks, all i wanna do is play on after im finished the game!

Ye its been rumoured that Broken Steel will be out this Thursday on PSN. The remaining expansion packs will be added in the months to come.

I'm going to wait for the GOTY edition, I have Fallout 3 already but I'd rather get tham all in the one bundle and not have to download loads of expansion packs. I'm running low on space as it is.

Depends how much they're charging for DLC... Might buy GOTY or might just dl seperatly.

Yeah I'm trading in my copy of fallout and buying the GOTY edition. It makes more sense for the finances if nothing else!

Also the GOTY edition may be a bit more stable than the original game with all the add-ons um... added on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,532 ✭✭✭WolfForager

But i'd say the trade in value of F3 will plumet in the coming weeks, and it might not be financially viable to get the GOTY edition.

Even if the DLC was released at 10e a pop (unbelieveably unlikely) then you would only need to get 10e in a trade to make up the RRP of the GOTY Edition.

Thats assuming you can't get it cheaper than 60e AND assuming the DLC packs will cost 10e each (I am almost certain they won't).

Broken Steel is out today priced €9.99, I'm going to have to pick it up, though I betrayed the flock and bought an Xbox last weekend so I'm ploughing through a few of those games at the mo'.

TRAITOR!! Ah well, i have one too, so no harm done :P

Don't know wheter to buy GOTY or get the DLC.. I never fully completed the side quests on the original (alot of em actually). So i get broken steel i could probably make do with just that, just doing the rest of the quests etc. for a good while....

Im gonna get the GOTY myself, if you check your current FO3 trophy list, they have added all the DLC one's :)

So im down to 53% completed from 100% :D

Strangely enough, the trophy list was updated almost 2 months ago, well thats the last time i checked them.

Must see if i can get confirmation but someone was saying me that old saves might not work with the GOTY.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,532 ✭✭✭WolfForager

And the DLC is up, currently downloading.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,920 ✭✭✭AnCapaillMor

Had a go at it last night for a few hours, its fallout. Nothing really new yet art from new armour and a new weapon, only doen the 1st 2 quest tho.

I heard broken steel was the weakest of all the DLC anyway.... Could you continue from your old savegame btw ?

Yep, and it kicks off after you finish the original ending.

I never played Fallout 3 on PS3. Had it on old PC and finished it on that.

Got a lend of a copy one day but never bothered playing it. How is the framerate and is there any bugs on PS3?

I'll probably wait for GOTY edition.

They've gotten so cheap I couldn't resist. Picked up a few old exclusives pre-owned then.

Trying to decide between buying Fallout 3 DLC of Fable II DLC now. Either way I won't be getting either this weekend as have to head to a cousin's wedding. I'm eager to get back to the Capital Wasteland though.

It used to crash every now and then, it'd freeze up and move on after a min or so or require a reboot. It used be really choppy on the last quest with prime, but the patch i dl'd last night seemed to sort it.

I played it through twice on the pc and 7 times on the PS3 :o ,there was the odd freeze/crash on the PS3 but nothing too dramatic, the fps was fine too.

Fable 2 DLC is terrible tbh.

Been playing broken steel for an hour or two now. Game has crashed 3 times and Fawkes and my brotherhood companions got stuck in time half way through the building, making me kill all the Enclave by myself.

    Gah.

I like Fable 2 but I'm not entirely sure why, the gameplay isn't great and there's loads of things that annoy me about it, but for some reason I'm charmed by it. Prefer Fallout though by miles, just seems ot have more depth. PLaying Mass Effect at the mo and enjoying that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,920 ✭✭✭AnCapaillMor

Broken steel was ok, not great, if it was'nt for the level 30 cap, i'd have been pissed, looking forward to the pitt.

Fable II is a good game, the DLC is dire though, looking forward to Fable III :)

I'm still playing the main game, so the big question: If I get the GOTY version, can I use my "regular" game saves and do I keep trophies? If not, then I might just get the DLCs separately.

Once you get the trophies they cannot be taken away, so theres no problem there.

The GOTY is 42euro on Play.com

So taking that the trade in value is probably €10/€12(store credit)

Spending another €30 to get 5 DLC's... on top of what you already paid for Fallout...

Sounds like renting the GOTY edition just to install the extra content would be the wise option... if that works ofcourse!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,317 ✭✭✭CombatCow

You can pre-order it form thehut.com for €36 delivered.

Oh god I didn't think of renting and installing, does anyone know if that works?

I traded it in in Game for €15 on Saturday

Yeah I"m going to hold off the DLC for a while, still have the other games to get through too. Compared to Fallout, Fable seems just a tad bit light in terms of combat, it's enjoyable though, and the story, character and acting and stuff is really good. You don't get that sense of scale that Fallout gives ya though. When you step out of the vault for the first time and it's overwhelming how much there is to explore. You could ignore the main quest for 40 or 50 hours nearly! Fable was a bit more linear, but more accessible. They're completely different types of RPG really. Yeah Fable III sounds like it will be pretty cool.

I might pick up Broken Steel later on to give the PS3 an airing!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,532 ✭✭✭WolfForager

Yep, Pitt and Anchorage out today. Won't be buying them for a month i'd say though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,920 ✭✭✭AnCapaillMor

Feckin tenner a pop, still bought them tho.

Not sure if its been mentioned here yet but the game of the year edition is out on the 16th of Oct. includes all the DLC and its only 42 euro on play. I reckon you could prob get it even cheaper than that. If you dont want to or cant download the DLC.

Edit : i see it has been mentioned ...im not a morning person ( yes i know its 1 o clock :) )
