40 is a lot, people will probably just not bother putting that much effort into it. How about 10?

Put as many as you like. The top one will get 40 points, the number 2 will get 39 and so on. I've edited the first post.

40 albums from 10 years isn't asking too much is it?

We're going to be left with a massive list if we all name 40 albums. Not to mention that a lot of albums would only be mentioned once or twice. I'd say naming 20 would be too much. Narrow it down to 10. I haven't put a lot of thought into this but here goes:

    1 Beck - Modern Guilt
    2 Ween - Quebec
3 The Mars Volta - Amputechture
4 Morrissey - Ringleader of the Tormentors
    5 The National - Alligator
6 New Order - Get Ready
    7 Radiohead - In Rainbows
    8 Arcade Fire - Funeral
9 Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not - Arctic Monkeys
10 Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

You couldn't think of more than 3 albums you liked from this decade?

    Fair enough.

I've done this on other sites and it has worked fine.

If you get 7 people to do 10 albums each you'll probably get a top 40. Nobody is interested in writing down 40 albums

you mean, apart from the three people who have done so already?

What a silly statement to make given that it had already been proven wrong by the time you posted it.
