My boyfriend and I are together nearly six months,He's adamant we will stay together forever and get married etc, however I'm more of a realist! I'm only 18 and was a bit if a commitment phobe and more into partying and hooking up and not the relationship type. I am guilty of cheating one month in (just kissing)

I'm warming to the idea of being together forever but is this possible? and Should i even be thinking about it yet?
We argue a lot but when we don't its "perfect"

I don't feel like we're just another teen couple and it could work out with a lot of effort and devotion (i'm not idiot,i know it will take work)

I just dont know if its infatuation ! :/

Seems youre both on different pages, then.

    Possible, yes. Likely? Not really.
and Should i even be thinking about it yet?
In your case, given what youve said, I would say no.

Like most relationships. If it wasnt people dont stay in them.

Every relationship takes work, and to want to make it work. Just dont miss out on your actual life for a relationship, would be my advice.

Neither do we, but trust your gut feelings. Theyre usually right.

To be honest, if you've cheated just one month in, it sounds like it might be a case that he's the perfect guy for you but maybe he's just come along at the wrong time in your life, when you're not ready for a relationship. Does he know about that incident?

You're only eighteen, you don't have to sign up to a lifetime commitment just yet and your boyfriend shouldn't make you feel under pressure to do so :)

You sound like you're having a great time together - keep it like that. Have fun, enjoy your time together, chill out and avoid the "where is this going?" conversations.

In my opinion, at your age, a relationship isn't something you should have to put a lot of "work" into, seeing as you have no kids or other responsibilities.

He sounds like a great guy so if you don't feel like you can stay faithful to him, maybe it might be best to end things for the moment while you're on good terms, and who knows what might happen with him in the future?

yeah,he knows about the cheating,he forgave me and all that! Which i havnt taken lightly obviously ( I don't think i can do it again and get away with it) I tried to be more attentive and stopped drinking for a bit, cos i'm prepared to!

Dont think we're on two different pages,i will be on that page, one day just not now. Marriage is far away!

    Thanks

    Hi OP ...

You may be right in what you say - but what I would say to you is ... so what ? what does it matter ? why does it matter ?

You are 18 and the only thing that really matters is whether you stay together another month. Enjoy your relationship for what is is now. Enjoy spending time together. Stop thinking about the future. If he insists on thinking about it, then that's fine but maybe he needs to keep it to himself.

Also about the kiss... jeeez you are both too young to be worrying about small indiscretions that are part of growing up.

    ENJOY.

    All the best
