I'd have loved to have gone to this. I wish you had posted it earlier.

Hope you had a good gig!

Loved the gig on sat night, great performance and real polished act. Mad unusual venue for it, such a formal "play" type atmosphere and I'm not sure that the crowd in its entirity knew what they were comin to see. That said I'd say the picnic drew away a lot of the punters that might have gone too.

Will certainly go see youguys again - great night out - Wheres next ?

Bit of a head in the morn, after mind you lol

    Hi guys,

For some reason I have been obsessing about The Band lately, so when I saw your gig advertised it was great timing. I just had to go.

I think it is worth discussing the whole evening. I was surprised to see that most people were at least 15 years older than me. I assume all the young'uns were at the picnic.

I have a lot to say about the music. Mind you I have only seen the movie once, so I don't know what was done on purpose. I'll start with the "bad":
-The first couple of songs had me a little worried to be honest, as the ending was a little iffy.
-The sound of the guitar was closer to modern rock, and -I think- did not fit the purpose. A bluesy-er, more raw kinda sound would have sounded better. Also, it was a bit loud.
-The voices deserved to be heard better. You need to hear the harmonies on songs like "Dixie..", otherwise you lose something. Maybe that was just a technical limitation due to the hardware.
-Unless it was done on purpose, the brass section could stay off the stage when they don't play. But they did a good job anyway, so that doesn't really matter.

    What I liked: Your singers.
-The "chameleon" singer is really, really talented. (I did wonder about the Al johnson-type of make-up but...)
-The young guy singing Van Morrison was like a punch in the stomach. In a good way.:D. A costume would have been nice but Sweet Jesus can he sing.
-The drummer also did a good job at putting some flesh on the songs.

The remarks may sound very pedantic and all, but if I hadn't liked the gig I wouldn't have bothered writing so much...

In conclusion, nevermind the remarks above: Thank you for the gig. I would have honestly not felt cheated if I had paid €30 instead of €20. It would have been totally worth it.

I might even go see it again!
