Lack of sleep related to alcoholic consumption

I noticed in the last year or so, I find it VERY difficult to sleep after a night out on the lash. I dont necessarily have to be buckled, last Friday I had only 4 millers (bottles) and upon returning home found it almost impossible to get to sleep. I usually take anywhere between a half an hour and an hour to get to sleep.. but after drinking Ill be lucky to be out after 2 hours.

Anyone else had any experience with this? Or any explanation as to why this happens to me?

I take it alcohol is the only drug you're taking? No coffee or anything?

Alcohol is well known to disrupt sleep.

Maybe talk to a doctor although I'd be fairly certain they wont prescribe you anything because it's self-inflicted and alcohol+other cns depressants = bad bad bad.

I dont sleep well after consuming to much alcohol .

I sleep , it's just not a natural sleep and I wake up to early felling twice as tired .

I've had many a 12 hour sleep after being on the drink and when I woke up it felt like I never slept at all.

But...I normally get to sleep very quickly so I've no experience with this. :D

I find that some of the time after I'm out for the night, I will sleep for a few hours and then wake up (what I term my drunken sleep), be wide awake for awhile and then fall back asleep and have a proper sleep

If you're out on a Friday after work, you could end up overtired by the time you're home and this could be exasperated by the alcohol?

I think I heard before this something to do with the way the body breaks down the alcohol.

I fall asleep quickly when I'm drinking, but the more I drink, the earlier I wake up. After a heavy night, I find it difficult to get more than 5 or 6 hours sleep, and it's bad sleep too.

After a few drinks I'd fall asleep quite easily.
But I'd wake up a few hours later at crazy times like 4am and not get back to sleep

For sure alcohol disrupts your sleep
