i took the plunge and got my first Mac today. It did not come with Snow Leopard and the people at Dixons in the Airport were not too much help. Anyway I was wondering if I need to purchase a copy should I be able to get a free copy from Apple as I got the Mac after Snow Leopard was released? Any help appreciated...
    Cheers

Sorry for the irrelevance of the question, but why did you buy in Dixons airport? Curious to know whether they had a discounted price from high street shops.

You'll have to pay €8.95 for an upgrade disc.

i'm only speculating based on good experiences with Apple support, but i would think they'll probably hook you up with the upgrade if you get on the phone to them. you'll probably have to register it before you call.
enjoy the macbook and life without windows.

i was coming back through Heathrow today and the price on a 13' MBP with 250GB disk and 4GB Ram was £998, as opposed to €1499 in Ireland. Good deal I think!!!

My friend ordered a new MBP on the Friday snow leopard came out and when he got it snow leopard wasn't installed but it was in the box. So he had to install himself. Bit strange.

Anyway I wouldn't trust the people in Dixons to even know what snow leopard is! You'll have to pay the 9eur for the shipping.. shouldn't be a problem.

The likes of Dixons and PC World are well known to always have old stock on display, if you want the latest and greates always go to apple directly

I bought it there for the price, it was in Dixons Tax Free in T1 at Heathrow and they have some in all the major airports in the UK. I didn't ask the Dixons staff about Snow Leopard because I knew what the answer would be. Funny thing is that I tried the up to date program but there was some issues so I called the Apple Store and they are having problems with their serial numbers so I have to mail in a form to get it.
At the moment very happy with it. Got my XP machine running in Fusion. One thing, I cannot get Time Machine to work with my NAS! I will keep trying...
    Thanks for the comments!!!
