Cork is full of high quality clubs and shops that are full of experienced cyclists, although I personally think your budget is far far too high for someone buying their first ride (1500-3000:eek:), you should ask yourself what you need the bike for Mountain, Commuting, Training and Racing etc.

After reading past threads you'll also find alot of very good advice in what to look out for here on boards so why not start with a search of the forum, after that and when you know what you want try some of the very good online stores who deliver in Ireland, i.e. wiggle.co.uk, chainreactioncycles.com and cyclingsuperstore.ie

Remember a more expensive bike doesn't necessarily result in a better rider!

Noel Holmes in West End Cycles Ballincollig is good, very easy to talk to and always found him willing to check with reps etc about stock levels. €1500+ will buy you a lotta bike.

Far more than giant & trek around. Don't forget you can buy online too!

Don't go to a bike shop, let us spend your €3000!

    I love those threads...

I love to pop into The Edge Sports Shop 79 North Street when in Cork, the bikes are upstairs, Kuota, Scott and Felt, very, very nice. Just around the corner is Kilgrews Cycles for Trek and Giant.

Is €3,000 a hard limit or could you push it a bit higher? :)

Seriously though, even €1,500 is a lot if it is your first bike.

As others have said you would need to provide more information on what you intend using the bike for.
