    mondriaan,
    I's really ugly.
I'd rather have a Van Gogh,

But yeah, I've been visiting bikeradar every day to see what they have got on eurobike.

What's the verdict about those 'lefties' from Cannondale anyway. Those one-armed for-forks. I don't see the advantage apart from the fact that your bike looks unfinished.

I think it's to allow them enough travel since they do the suspension forks a bit different. That's what I was told years ago and I believed it. Dunno if it's true.

An elegant, simple solution to the challenges created by integrated seatmasts.

    EB_italian_hall_25.jpg
2009 Eurobike: The FSA seatmast inserts use an expander wedge and permit height adjustment via spacers

    Spacers in your seatpost, FFS.

    Speaking of integrated seatposts ...

Is there the remotest justification for integrated seatposts? They seem like the dumbest idea to come down the pike in a couple of decades to me.

Supposed to make for a stiffer frame. Potentially lighter too. All well and good if it's a pro bike, but for the ordinary racer I don't think they're a great idea. Two issues: difficulty in getting into a bike box for travelling; and affecting the resale value of the bike, since it can only be bought by someone the same size or slightly small than you.

I think it's for fairweather well off freds ... because there is no way you can fit the bike in a bike box without cutting off the seatpost.

They raise the seatpost/frame junction (although there still is one, of sorts) which reduces the leverage at that junction, which in theory means you can build a lighter, stiffer bike.

Since many weight weenie bikes do not have ISPs (Scott Addict, Cervelo R3 SL, Storck) this is arguable.

I wonder whether there is a correlation between manufacturers who are unable to compete on weight terms and the adoption of ISPs.

I was considering a Wilier Cento Uno at one stage, which has a choppable ISP, but then I read a review where they found that it wasn't that stiff anyway. And it was damn expensive, and I didn't want Campag.

ISTR that Specialized are offering ISP and non-ISP versions of the same framesets, which is an inspired strategy.

I don't like the new BMC at all. I hate the way the seatstay junction is way below the junction with the top tube. Just looks weird.

Aye, not a fan of that. Looks too much like a TT rig at the back.

Hmmm. For some reason it reminds me of this (possibly NSFW). I think it's a better design than then SLC01 though.

i quite like the other one too, though not so big on the MTB and RB looking so similar...somehow it sullies the road bike for me...

Agreed. I lusted after that one for ages, especially when Astana were on them, with Eastons and Campagnolo.

Those DT Swiss wheels on the new BMC look very tasty too. They're not on the DT Swiss website yet, as far as I can tell.

But with white bar tape, and a white saddle, which is level.
Those wheels look pretty ace I think

They can make the fork lighter and simpler as they only need one suspension unit rather than two. From what I have read it is a very good and successful design and works well on their mountain bikes.

+1 on the Bad Boy being ridiculous though.

Giant have caught the disease at Interbike. And an almost horizontal top tube too!

    Giant1.jpg

"Giant has three goals for its carbon ’cross bike: comfort, stiffness and frame weight — in that order."

I would have though frame compliance was a bit irrelevant when you're running fat low pressure tyres, and weight quite significant when you're carrying the bike on your shoulders. But what would I know.

The number of pre-hipsterfied bikes on the market is now becoming alarming. Even folks like Pinarello are jumping on the bandwagon.

That's the nicest new Pinarello I've seen - it's got proper non-wavy forks. Even the headset spacers look elegant, like Gwyneth Paltrow's neck.

I like the way they've hidden the brake levers out of shot.
