    what year?
    jap or euro car?

if euro, you need a dealer or specialised key cutter to supply the key as its immobiliser will need to be programmed in.

if its a jap import, and has no immobiliser on the car, then you can get one cut from your spare for relatively cheap at a key cutting place.

We got our key cut from the Lock Guy who deals especially in car keys. We have no problems with the key and it only cost us €100.00 . Toyota were quoting us €215.00 .. I'm very happy with the savings..

Just to add that was for the fob also..

was it for a euro or jap toyota? what model?

thats a good price tbh, i'd say you would be hard pushed to get a better deal than that.

Is the OP looking for a key to be cut or for a proper remote key fob? I presume the latter but the Q referred to the former.

It was for a Landcruiser, an Austrialian import so I have been told ! Our key had come off the Fob . the Lock man changed it over to a new idenical fob.

I have found auto locksmiths in this country to be expensive. I've had quotes of €100 to €150 for a key that in the end cost me less than €70 from a main dealer.
