diploma- no leaving cert?

    hi all,
    im wondering is it necessary to have a leaving cert to start a diploma course as a mature student?

    as in no it isnt needed for a diploma?

    or i can start the course and be asked for a leaving cert later?

    i have gcse's btw

    You don't have to have a Leaving as a mature student, they assess you on life experience, but if you have no history of learning etc. and they think you couldn't cope without some more grounding, they may ask you to do an Access Course first.

    Or make you sit some kind of entrance 'test'. The grades you got at GCSE are also factored in :)
