What's the story with Kevin St? Where's the nearest pub/deli? How much is a bottle of coke in the nearest shop? Is there anything like a SU in there or what? What else? Is there much in the area that would help or hinder a daily routine? Will I need to bring a packed lunch? :)

I know we'll know all this stuff by the end of next week, but people like answering questions. I'm sure of it.

Anyone like Katt Williams? I thought he was ****, but he's actually pretty funny.

Edit: I really hate the censor. I'm a grown man!! If they were going to do anything, they should filter the word. Replace bad words with something where we all know what it is, but we don't get to see it. Just in case we can't handle it.

Edit 2: Also the time for the LOLCATZ to enter the thread is never. When should LOLCATZ enter the thread?

    Never

Nearest pub is shine used to be better and now has a restaurant, it sucks bad pints all round, whelans is a minute walk away nice place good venue etc. The su shop is the best for a bottle of coke, I cant for the life of me remember the price. The food is ok, but subway is 2 mins away and fresh has nice rolls, aungier street has nicer diners but kev st has better breaky (ahh art sloan and his wisedom).

I have no idea who kat williams is so I cant help, and yes people do like answering questions, its 3 am and im bored. I agreee no lolcats.

There are also a few chippers around, I like Babylon and Zaytoon meself, nice kebabs. Burdocs isnt too far away either. There are plenty of pubs of Wexford/Camden street, Whelans, the Village, Shine, Anseo, Flannerys, the Palace, the Bleeding Horse, Ryans and Devits.
Any questions, ask some of the induction monkeys when you're in next week.

I'll be heading to Kevin Street too. What's the story with places to lock up a bike around there? I'm thinking of locking mine in Drury Street car park, but was wondering if there's anything closer/safer?

There is places for bicycles and an area for motor bikes. As I don't know which you were talking about.

It's a bicycle! That's cool, i'll just have to see how it goes i guess, i'm worried my bike will get knicked though...

There are two areas for bikes. one at the back entrance on your left hand side, go up as far as the building and its right there. and an other one if you go through the archway(you'll know it when you see it!) and go left down a ramp. Down by the classrooms in the basement.
    That makes sense to me.
Ask any one if you are unsure.

    Thanks!

Use the one down by the basement. My bike was damaged in the one at the back.

To be honest, I've always locked my bike onto the lamp posts out front and I've never had any bother.

Good luck to every one starting first year. Remember to join lots of Socs, and ask lots of questions.

There are places to lock a bike in the college. Like everywhere else a good lock is required. I have heard of many bikes stolen over the years from the college and I also know people cycling to work here for 20 years who've never had a problem - so I reckon a good lock is the answer.

Nearest Pub is shine, but it can be pretty ****e. Plenty of other places around.
Deli, well breakfast in the canteen is unrivaled in my opinion! Cheap and cheerful. Shop right outside where you can get rolls, Quiznos & Subway around the corner and plenty of chippers. Oh and if you go out the back way there's a big shop called Fresh which is top notch for rolls.

The Snackery is a decent enough place to go during the day, plenty of places to sit once it's not the main lunch hour, pool tables and wifi and a "games room" aswell.

Not much else to say about the area that would help or hinder the daily routine, few cheap barbers around. Well there's the park out the back which is always good when the sun is out a few cans n what not, actually there's a good offy across from that shop fresh. That's pretty much everything I've learned about the place in the last 2 years. And the library staff are loud.

There's usually a fire drill three or four weeks into each semester. And that's aside from the times the fire alarm decides to go off for no good reason in the old building (in Semester 1 last year, the fire alarm would go off in the main building two or three times a week, without fail, for the entire semester - got to the point where no-one so much as blinked when it would go off).
