Apparant iPod Touch w/ Camera sighting in Dublin

    My 16yo sister's boyfriend is a bit of a scumbag. Anyway, yesterday he was telling me about one of his friends who robbed a lorry of a box of iPod Touches.

    He's not a nerd himself - 16yo kid, doesn't follow any of this stuff himself. But he has an iPod Touch (the boyfriend, not he kid who robbed stuff). He mentions to me that his friend kept one of the iPods for himself and that it was much better than his one. I asked him how much better (meaning 16gb, 32gb, etc) and he said ''Pretty cool. It has a camera.''.

    Naturally I started asking him loads of questions. Was it an iPhone, etc. He, only half paying attention (one eye on the telly) was saying ''Eh, no, it was an 'iTouch', couldn't call anyone or anything. They were all iPod touches. Like, it said on the box. It was just like mine except it could hold more and it had a camera. We were all like taking pictures of stuff''.

    Now, it was only after badgering him with questions for ages that I got this info out of him. He wasn't offering it freely, all excited or anything. He had no idea that there weren't iPods with cameras yet (his one was old, so he'd assumed there had already been an upgrade.

    I explained that they hadn't been released yet. Said he was meetin the guy again during the week and that he'd bring it around for me to see.

    Maybe they took pictures of themselves robbing the lorry with it?

    Sure it wasn't an iPud or any other knockoff like that? :)

    Lorry was delivering to an 02 store he said. In Dublin city centre somewhere.

    @Dades: HA! :P

    Was he and his friend in N.J recently? :)

    I'm actually more astounded by American local news! Sounds like an episode of COPS or something. Except the subjects weren't hatless, like in COPS.

    Yep, that's "Action News!!" for you :D. Is it me or does the guy "reporting" the story sound like "generic trailer voice guy" from every Hollywood blockbuster ever? :P

    I've seen the likes of this on FOX, but I didn't know that local news could be that sensationalist. I always thought 'Action News!' was a spoof!

    Lads, if the the new ipods are released next week, say next Monday or Wednesday, would they be available straight away?

    If so, this may be possible alright. Still though, most likely it was just an iphone 3GS:(

    My guess is that he never knew the ipod touch and the iphone looked so similar and just assumed that it was a touch with a camera
