    Hi all,

My wife is putting pressure on me to get a pellet stove into our house for the winter. Ive heard Martin Forde is a major supplier/installer - he's based in Kilcock. Is he worth a punt?

Short answer is NO, NO, NO.

We had bought furniture from him before and it was decent enough stuff and reasonably priced so we felt comfortable going to him for a pellet stove. So we bought one from him in March 2008 (Sideros make) and it has never worked right, i.e. refuses to light sometimes, or will light and then it goes out for no reason. About a dozen phone calls to him were ignored and a follow up visit to him resulted in us being asked to leave his shop as he didn't want us giving out about his pellet stoves and non existant follow up service in front of other customers. We nearly lost out on the grant as well as his fitter wasn't registered at the time but the grant people gave us the grant anyways (the only bit of luck we had).

I'll pm you with the names of other suppliers who have proven customer care records, which Forde does not.
