Dismantling a Zen

I previously posted about my Zen being a bit fooked.
Now I've just come across a video showing how to dismantle a Zen and as I don't have anything to lose I thought I'd dismantle it.
I'm thinking of borrowing a battery from a friend to see if that fixes it.
    Anyone any experiences of this?
    Thanks.:)

My brother did it previously and it worked fine - not sure what he was replacing though. I need to replace the screen on my x-fi; am happy to try it myself but can't find the right screen anywhere...
