Passat indicators switching off

hi all i've an 01 passat tdi and i've been having problems with my indicators lately,whenver I indicate either left or right or whenever i put the hazard lights on they blink anywhere between 1 and 8 times then flicker for a second or two then switch off altogether,its happening constantly,Im wondering if anybody has had a similar problem or knows whats going on?

Yes it's a new hazard switch that controls and indicators and hazard lights. The whole hazard switch you pull out and replace it with a new one, cost's about €30, it's a diy job or a dealer should do it cheap enough.

Common problem. It's the indicator relay which is part of the hazzard light switch as mentioned above.

thanks lads appreciate the advice,i'll get it sorted asap,on another note while im on the topic of my car,i've been having another issue,whenever i take a sharp right turn around a tight corner or out of a parking space etc or if i go fastish around a roundabout i hear an annoying clicking noise it sounds the same as a cv joint problem but from what i can see the boot on the cv joint is fine and theres no grease leaking out of it so im a bit confused as to what it could be,if anybody has any advice it will be greatly appreciated
