My hair is very very curly and almost down to my waist. I badly need it cut, it's been two years!

This is because any hairdressers I've been to treat my hair like it is straight. They generally cut it into a 'straight' style that looks odd when my hair is dry. I wear my hair curly all the time. So I really need someone that knows curly hair.

    Please help!

I'm in the midlands area, Dublin also suits.

This is probably no good location wise but I go to a place in Artane (D5) called its all about you. I have very curly hair and I always get a great cut. I often see a woman with really long, super curly hair in there so she must be happy with them!

Natural Cut on Wicklow St, Dublin 2 specialise in curly hair and are very good. They cut your hair dry as it gives a more accurate representation of how your haircut will actually look!

anybody heard of a good hairdresser in Kerry that can manage curly hair?

i am of the curly haired variety and haven't had a professional cut in over a yr since nobody can handle my thick curly dry mass of hair.

also... the question about someone in cork to cut curls?
my friend who lives there recommends Guapa. i can't vouch for it yet cos i haven't been there. but if nothing comes up in Kerry I may venture further south.
the biggest thing i've learned is that the stylist has to be happy cutting it dry otherwise forget about it.

OMG this is MADDDDD! I was actually gonna write a post about this this eve.
I was also recommended Guapa - and I went there last sat and I could not believe my luck.
They KNOW curly hair for sure!!!!
And the place is really cool in a genuine kind of way... and I got a little head massage too. And its not expensive.
So here's to me finding a hairdressers after 2.5 yrs here!

only bad thing about a good hairdresser - cant get an appointment till mid next week - worth waiting for though - will book well in advance in future..

i finally got my hair cut there 10 days ago - yes they were pretty tight on appointments but i was lucky.
i asked the stylist to cut my hair dry - which she had no problem with.phew....
but after only a few seconds of checking the way my hair looked she started combing it....can you imagine the 'fro....
i was so nervous and thinking ..' how will she know which way the curls fall....what parts are thick .....??'
anyway it worked out fine in the end and they finished it lovely by twisting some product in.
BUt since then as the natural curl of my hair has fallen into place i can see all the wispy ends she has missed and some ends still look scraggly cos she didn't cut it on the top of the c of the curl...if u know what i mean.

if i lived in cork I would pop back to her and i'm sure she would remedy it very quickly...but i don't so i am back on the hunt again

try them out cork curlies - this is just my experience.

My friend goes to SitStil in Dublin. Its on Drury st, she has masses of curly hair and they always do a good job. They're slightly more expensive than your average local hairsalon though

I've been years looking to get a good stylish haircut around Cork.
My hair is of the long thick, wavy/curly variety, not corksrew.
I chanced going to East Hair and beauty Salon on the Church road, Carrigaline.
I can say that I am truly pleased in a long time with the cut I got here.
Caroline took care of me here. A really lovely girl, genuine and chatty and took time to listen to what I asked. I'll definitley be going back there. I'd highly recommend this place.
