    Howdy all,

Having trouble finding an electrician to do a few small jobs around the house. I thought with the turndown in the building sector etc. there'd be no probs but have been fobbed off by a couple of guys already that clearly have bigger contracts that they're prioritising.

Basically need to put up 3 bathroom mirrors, 4 internal lights, couple of spots in the kitchen and to check an electric shower. All in all I would say no more than a couple of hours work.

Could anyone recommend an electrician in the area (we're about 10 mins from the city) that specialises in small jobs?

    cheers cm

    i get ye cartman78
some small jobs just arent worthwhile cause it's difficult judging how long it'd take to get them done ye know.
one of the first nixers i did was for a relative and it ended up taking twice as long because:

-i had to pull up floorboards to replace missing earths at the new light points, try breaking that news to someone who's just had new hardwood tounge and groove floors put in! :D
and the reason i had to put in earths was because they wanted me to put up metal chandeliers! something i didn't know when pricing the job!

-the new skirting had holes cut out for the sockets and where with little to no slack on the cables and the holes cut out for the sockets where too big for fixing!

that made 8 hours out of a job we'd priced for 4 hours for me and me mate, and i laugh at it now thinking back but back then the two of us just wanted to pack up the tools and do a legger straight to the local boozer! lol!

what kind of job is it cartman78? an extention, extras, replacements?
