REALLY hoping someone cn give me a step by step guide to fixing this....the ones on the net are no use.

When I try to open itunes it says "itunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder" and it won't let me go on to itunes. I use it for work so if anyone can help, would be most appreciated.

    Thanks guys....

Check the permissions of the the iTunes folders and files. The iTunes folder is within the Music folder in the home directory: ~/Music/iTunes

Either you need to unlock the disk if the file is corrupted and recover your files or you should first try permission settings if the problem still occurs then try a recovery tool which atleast get your files back on track..try Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery software it will help you alot....cheers
