Inspired by a comment made by PDN:P

Thing is I'm not entirely sure if this is 100% appropiate for this forum, but here goes anyways as it'll be fun as long as we respect each other.

Does an animal, say a dog have faith/religious superstitions?
I'm not aware of any research done on this, so speculation is the key, try to make it somewhat logical though. And in the case of folks like me, dumb it down if it has one or more branches in its tree, actually no scratch that dumb it down anyways:)

Anyways, I think pet doggies show a great deal of trust in human beings, they have empathy towards us. My bloody little runt always seemed to know, just know, when I was off the normal beat. With regard to them being aware of their owners religious beliefs (or lack of them) and following them, I think the dog learns alot from its owner so who knows what it actually interprets.:)
I'd say food is still the most important thing to them though, that and the member of the opposite sex. Who knows though...

In any case think of this thread as animal admiration/love :)

I don't think dogs question where the big yellow cans of food come from, let alone anything more complex.

I have a bush that looks like it has a beard. It could be mould though. Next time I'm out in the garden, I will pose it the question... "are you Jewish, or Muslim, or what the hell are you at then, you damn hippy?!!!"

Faith in the biblical sense? (Accepting that Christ died for me and committing myself to live for Him) No.

Faith in its most elemental meaning? (Expecting certain consequences to follow certain actions) Probably.

I once had a puppy who had the faith he could walk on water. In his short life the only bodies of water he had ever seen were puddles - which he could walk on (or through). We took him to the park for the first time and he saw ducks on the pond, and that dumb pup tried to run across the surface of the water to catch the ducks! He rapidly discovered that faith without works is dead - and also learned to swim faster than any dog in history.

However, I do not have the faith that this thread will turn out to be anything other than a trollfest - so time for the lock!
