Good Rear Light Recommendations?

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a decent rear light not too expensive but good enough to be lit up very well with the dark evenings coming in?

I'm sorted for the front just need one for the rear.

(I remember a post on here a few months back with somebody recommending a really good rear light for about €5 but they were all bought up on some website?)

Combines a 1 watt ultra bright rear facing red LED with 2 amber side LEDs

You can get half watt lights much cheaper though.

I'll second the Smart 1/2 watt job. It's surprisingly bright for the size.

Perhaps the ideal two-light combo is a 1/2 watt on constant 1 watt on flash. That way you don't use too many batteries.

Have one of these, Cateye TL-LD130s. Nice and compact. Can't remember how much but shouldn't be too much

That's exactly my set up. I think it's pretty good, and quite easy on batteries. The Smart 1/2 Watt are very good.

Blackburn claim the same run times for their 3.0 and 4.0 lights with the same batteries. I've a 3.0 hooked onto an elastic loop on my saddle bag, and it's retina-burning in the flashing mode, so I'd imagine the 4.0 is even more painful.

That front Flea looks quite useful for a commuting light.

Get some Uniross Hybrio rechargable batteries off Ebay. I did and they are very good.

Have to agree with heffsarmy, the smart jobs are great. The rear one is unbelievably bright for something so small.

I have the CatEye EL530 TL-LD1100 pair, pricey but bright. The rear light is e38 on its own.
