The tire pressure monitor will still work, and if your car is under the manufacturers warranty, you will loose warranty concerning braking systems/alloys as they're all run off calibrations based on the runflats.

However, shortly this won't be an issue as BMW are ditching run flats soon!

Bought my 520d 2010 (new model) 5 months ago and just had it for a service. The car was shuddering when I braked. They said I need new brake discs! The car has only 58,000k on it. Would brake discs normally fail after 58,000k! Do you think this should be covered by warranty?

depends, could be 58k of hard braking!

I read somewhere that BMW now change discs with each pad change on all models bigger than 3 series. Whether that is true or not, discs are certainly made from much more soft wearing material nowadays so are required very often. The car manufacturers also specify about 1mm each side of disc as Max wear which is very little.
Driving style would have a lot to do with disk warping IMO.
