Medical Negligence?

    Hi,

A family member of mine was recently diagnosed with quite a severe form of cancer. He is in his teens. He had went to two hospitals because he was exhibiting extreme symptoms (common with this type of condition). The two hospitals discharged him. One hospital told him it was a problem with the back disks in his back without performing any type of proper diagnostics. Only after it got to the point where he was literally in agony he was then admitted to a third hospital where proper diagnostics was carried out and discovered that it was cancer and that it had most likely spread to other parts of the body.

If this cancer had of been diagnosed on the first or second time he was in hospital it may not have spread and the symptoms he is experiencing now may well have been much less severe. I am really upset about this. While his recovery is the most important thing to me at this point I can't help but think he wouldn't have been in this condition if the other two hospitals had performed proper tests and started treatment months ago.

I am not looking for legal advice but I would like to know of anyone else who has had similar issues. How does one go about pursuing a charge of medical negligence?

    Thanks
    X

Firstly I am very sorry to hear about your young family members circumstances. I sincerely hope he makes a full and healthy recovery.

Secondly, contact a Solicitor. Medical negligence cases are notoriously difficult to succeed in. Best to talk to someone and know where you stand if its a road you ever want to go down. I can recommend a good Solicitor if you want. PM me and i will pass on the details.
