Swords Cycle Center

Without trying to chessily plug a store I have to honestly give a massive thumbs up to Swords Cycle Center, basically due to a complete lack of skill and sheer bullishness when climbing hills in Co. Clare over the weekend I completley messed up the tension on my gear cables resulting in pretty poor shifting and god awful noises in various parts of my poor bike.

With the help of 'Haynes The Bike Book', youtube and an engineering career I managed to make a complete arse of a repair job making the problem even worse so decided to down tools and get the bike professionally serviced on the way home yesterday evening, picked it up this morning and its running better than ever, Eur30 for the service and didn't charge for the new brake/gear cables and fancy jagwire outers.

Very very impressed and has a nice selection of secondhand 80's racing bikes also which I now have to find another fault to justify going back and getting!

You wouldn't have a number for this bike shop, would be interested in the old racers?

Afraid not but if you find this aladdins caves of a place you'll understand that he may not actually have one! He's got some excellent 80's frames and fuly functional bikes in amongst the usual stack of metal but he can source any part quickly putting some of the bigger shops to shame,

Good luck and also trying to justify getting a 1987 Raleigh he has in stock in almost mint condition,

Directions: when entering swords main street from the airport side, continue down the main street to the very end and follow the road RIGHT of Swords castle the shop is very small and painted yellow and will be on your left hand side approx 100-150metres after the turn.

I've tried finding a number for this place too in the past without success, there probably a phone in there somewhere but it's probably buried under the used and spare parts that might come in useful some day. I've used this place a few times and I've never been stung, and never been let down either.

OR, if heading north on the M1, take the second exit after the Airport exit and turn left at the roundabout, and right at the next. The shop is on North St, which is the next left (left-right-left --easy)

    Folks,

I don't like to drag up old thread but I just want to say the man who runs this cycling center is as sound as they come. I would highly recommend the place for a bike service or if you need to get repairs done.

Any chance he has a clone on the south side of Dublin?

    Thanks
