Residency for less than 183days

If I'm resident here for less than 183days, can I claim back income tax paid during that time?
I came back to Ireland in mid-Apr, but am considering leaving again as I can't handle this weather ;)

    TIA,
    HD

Yes, your residence position will depend on the number of days you spend in the State in a tax year, but also how many days in previous year.

If none in previous year, then you will be considered non-resident in Ireland for 2009.

However, if you worked in Ireland, you are liable to tax in Ireland on this income, and as a non-resident, entitled to tax credits based on the proportion of Irish oncome over worldwide income.

You will need to look carefully at the position, as you may be better off claiming to be Irish resident.

Also - what about the country where you are resident? You may be liable to tax there on your Irish income.
