Hi, I am just wondering does anybody have any recommendations of places to try and find a part time job that is convenient for somebody attending DCU? No preferences and would would pretty much work anywhere, although bar work would most likely be the most suitable in relation to working around the college timetable.
    Thanks.

Same situation here, kinda annoying since I have no idea where anything is in Dublin.

Well Ikea have already recruited for their latest round of jobs, but if I were you I'd try all the local pubs in Drumcondra as far down the road as you like - there's loads. Failing that there's a load of shops and fast food places in Omni Park in Santry. And then there's always town, seeing as DCU isn't too far away from it.

Be warned though, there's very few jobs going. I've had my assessment for Ikea - for the two month contract jobs coming up. They had 100 places and I'd say thousands applied. They told us they had been doing loads of assessments with 20-30 people in each one. I figured it would mainly be of interest to students like me but there was people there as old as 40-45 I'd say.

If you're getting the grant or whatever just try live as cheaply as possible.

KFC in Omni (near DCU for all you non-dubliners/southsiders) had a sign up saying they were recruiting for the last few weeks but I don't think I saw it last time I was passing by. I couldn't bring myself to apply though, I'm very anti-KFC :pac:

I'm looking for a job myself, hopefully when all the people doing summer jobs go back there'll be more vacancies
