Hi people im just looking for some advice on this. just bought a 00 ford fiesta for €1500. 55,000miles on clock was learning my girlfriend how to drive Unfortunatly she ran straight into a wall & the Airbag popped 2 front lights front bumper & front wind screen all need replacing along with the bonnet their was no damage to anything around the engine or radiator Chassic etc, got a price from an auto Repair company of €1200inc vat. thats without getting the Airbag & Module Reset. Ps. the car wasn't even insured so cant go that route. not that i would especially with 3yrs No claims bonus. Suggestions would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear of your mishap.

If you want my opinion I try and get everything from a breakers yard and if you try enough you should get the same colour. The only thing is the airbags but I think you could get un-deployed ones off a breaker.

Most of the stuff you could put on yourself and should cut down on expense.

I paid €130 for a new windscreen on a Fiesta earlier this year if that's any help. You should be able to get all that stuff from a breakers yard as no1beemerfan said.

yea i can get 2nd hand parts but the front of it does look pretty bad it & i dont hav any tools to do the job myself so im kind of at the mercy of this crash repair specialist im dealing with- but i do think his price is a bit much

A lot of that quote would be for labour. Headlamps and the bumper should be easy enough to do yourself, and even considering the cost of buying a Haynes manual and tools you should save a lot of money. All you'd need for those are a ratchet set and some screwdrivers (headlights are Torx T30 screws, dunno the rest).

Air bags out...not worth fixing tbh. probably get 100 for scrap value. just get a different car
