    Hi,

it worked as normal, then flashed very quickly, then slowly.

    Any ideas why? fuse?

You will need a new Indicator/hazard switch it happened mine a few months ago,you still have a while before it completely gets fcuked.

Its the little triangle hazard relay,if you get the part you could fit it yourself or mechanic should supply and fit for around 50 euro

An easy DIY job if your even remotely inclined towards the DIY end of things. If not it'll be minimal labour and not horribly expensive as TNN said. The hazard switch contains the relay. It's a common fault in VW/Audi cars. But before you do replace it, make sure that all the indicator bulbs are working - best to check this during a 'fast flashing fit' as they will most likely appear OK while the flashing time is normal.

As already posted check that both your indicator bulbs are working.

1 of your indicator bulbs are blown

Wont be blown but may be a bad contact. First thing to check though is that all bulbs are working during this "fit".
