Fás PC Maintenance - Evening course

    I have signed up to the this course starting on Monday.

    PC Maintenance - Evenings

    Course Description
    To provide trainees with the skills and related knowledge in installing and configuring hardware, software and peripheral equipment in a PC system, to troubleshoot, resolve and use preventative maintenance techniques for basic PC issues Topics Covered in this Module: PC Installation & Configuration, Inside the PC System Box, Peripheral Equipment Setup & Troubleshooting and PC Virus Protection

    the course is 2 evenings a week over 5 weeks so cant really be that in-depth.
    has anyone done this course, what can I expect?

    Havent done that course but it seems as if its the very basics.Perhaps when you finish doing that look into doing the COMPTIA A+.Fas do a few courses with that and is widely recognised as entry level for pc servicing(apparently its equals 6 months on the job experience)

    Cant be bothered trawling through the fas website for links but i know it can be done on line and also as full time(along with the ECDL)

    that's exactly what I was thinking, for CompTIA A+ Essentials through Fás click here

    I have applied to do the ECDL through fás eCollege, but I find it strange that you have to print off and post an application form for an online course.
