Apologies if in wrong forum, but very frustrated with speed of uploads ! I use a Huawei E220 HSDPA USB Modem to access net while on the road. for the last few months speed was always 7.2mb and ok, for last week it always seems to be 236.8 Kbps and very slow. What can I do to improve this ? Is it signal or should I bring the modem back to O2 ? I use it 4 or 5 hours a day.............any help appreciated.

That's EDGE, which is an extension to 2G technology. You've lost your 3G signal, and there's not a lot you can do about it. Move the modem to a window, change the connection type to 3G only, apart from that, nothing.

Put the o2 modem in a waterproof plasticbag connect to a longer USB cable and dangle your dongle out window. I found it improved my single strength from 2 bars to 5 bars.

I have one of those 220 HUAWEI modems I left it outside without hte plastic bag. It rained very heavily. When I came home I was like sh*t. When I removed the sim card water dripped out. Amazingly it was working even in this state. I put on the radiator to dry out completely. (unplugged it at this point). Never stopped working. Amazing! I wouldn't recommend this though...
