A new species of brachiosaur named Qiaowanlong kangxii is the first of it's kind to be found in Chinese Early Cretaceous deposits.
Nearly 40 feet long, 10 feet tall and weighing in at about ten tonnes, it was about half the size of it's more famous predecessor Brachiosaurus which roamed North America in the Late Jurassic.
Its name refers to a famous Qing Dynasty emperor, Kangxi, and also contains the words for "bridge," "bend in a stream," and "dragon," references to the site as well as a dream the emperor is said to have had.
