Just wondering has anyone evr been stopped on there Learner permit when on there own in the car...I was terrified about it so I never went on my own but then I found I was improving my driving so I said I had to go out on my own, my driving has improved ten fold now and in 4months out on my own Ive never been stopped, Ive been waved through checkpoints and had garda traffic corps cars behind or to the side of me on various occasions and never been looked twice at, there was even an amusing situation one thursday night where there were three cars on the road my car a garda car and a supped up mitsuibishi colt in front of me, the garda car actually turned on the siren flew by me and pulled the other car over! ( the other car ahd no visible L plates)

When I was driving on my provisional, I used to drive by myself the whole time. I was pulled over once on the way home from work and the guard checked my tax/insurance/licence and then said so you have no fully licenced driver with you? I replied no and he said ah don't worry about it then told me to carry on home!. The enforcement of that law seems minimal in my experience and I've never heard of anyone actually being brought to court/fined over it.

I'm going to close this, as i feel it's border line breeching the charter.
Taken from the learning to drive charter:
    * Do not advocate illegal activities or encourage others to act illegally.

The law is clear. You must have a fully licensed drive accompanying you, who holds a full license in the relevant category for at least 2 years.
