Plane: DUBLIN - LONDON - LJUBLJANA

08:10-09:25 1h 15 Dublin (DUB) London Stansted (STN) Ryanair FR 206
4h 35 Connect in airport (Recommended minimum connection time: 2h)
14:00-17:05 2h 5 London Stansted (STN) Ljubljana (LJU) easyJet EZY3245

    Train: LJUBLJANA - BLED

I tried their train site but it aint in English so this i'm guessing these are the right stations. (seems to take 2hours!!)

    Ljubljana Odhod 12:50 LP2404 cene 01:59
    Jesenice Prihod 14:03
    Jesenice Odhod 14:35 LP4213
    Bled Jezero Prihod 14:50

Other airports near Bled would be Trieste in Italy or Klagenfurt in Austria, but both are equally crap to get from Dublin.

There's no direct flight from Dublin to Ljubliana?

Well if you make it to Ljubliana, do NOT get the train to Bled it goes arseways! Buses run from the train station to Lake Bled fairly regularly and take just over an hour if I remember correctly.

Enjoy if you go, it's a gorgeous place I would love to go back!

Sorry to hijack this thread but i have a question about lake Bled too. Me and the girlfriend will be interrailing next summer. Gonna go Prague---Muncih----Lake Bled----Venice----Rome. The post above has me worried about getting a train to Bled. Are they that unreliable?? I dont really have an interest in going to Ljubjana

Ljubljana is a lovely small city with a vibrant cafe culture.
It is a nice place to kick back.

I assume the train from Munich is stopping in Ljubljana?
The bus station is two minutes from the train station.

I've never taken the train, but I think the issue with it. Isn't that it is unreliable, but that it brings you to a village that is a few miles from Bled.

Ljubljana is well worth a day or two, you might not be that way again.
Between Bled and Venice you can take a scenic route bypassing Ljubljana by going from the Bled Jezero station to Nova Gorica, this is one of the most scenic lines in Europe. From Nova Gorica/Gorizia go to the Italian side of the town (30 min walk, or short bus or taxi trip) and there are lots of trains there towards Venice.

This is not the best route, this bypasses Bled and approaches it from the other side. The Lesce Bled station is a better option, although a few Km from Bled. A train there takes 45 mins to an hour depending on how many stop it makes. A bus from Ljubljana is a good option as noted elsewhere. Ljubljana airport is already in the direction towards Bled, but I am not quite sure if there is a shuttle or bus directly from the airport.
