I have had a Ps3 for nearly two year now. Blu-ray stopped wroking last week for no reason & Sony want €160 to repair it so I decided to get an xbox elite instead. Very impressed with xBox Live compared to Sony's online gaming. Xbox seems to be better value. Overall I am happy I got an new xbox instead of getting the PS3 repaired

    Toss a coin.

Each has it's pros and cons

In this forum section, the only sensible question is Nintendo Wii or Atari Jaguar.

Surely you should formulate your question better, such as asking which console supports the features that you are looking for in a Games console

You are very unlucky man! Just read this here:

    http://www.dealspwn.com/spectacular-xbox-360-failure-rates-fallout-3-dlc-news-roundup-august-18th/

Every second Xbox 360 is faulty! But only every tenth PS3! So it is more likely, that your Xbox 360 will break in the future...

You should consider a few things when making your decision:
    • What exclusive games are you interested in? Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5 and Uncharted versus Halo 3, Fable 2, Gears of War and Forza?
    • What console do your friends have? For sharing games and playing online etc.
    • Online on the PS3 is free, it is pay on the 360. The 360 has extra features however like cross game voice chat.
    • Each console has an online store with exclusive games also. The 360 online store has demos for every game, whilst the PS3 store has demos for a lot of games but far from all. However, downloadable games and DLC (like map packs for Call of Duty) can be shared on the PS3 but not the 360.
My preference would be for the PS3, as it can do more than what my 360 can. You can upgrade the PS3 with any hard drive you want, use any keyboard and headset you want, whereas with the 360 you have to buy Microsoft branded peripherals that often are a bit overpriced. You can always get stuff cheaper online though so always check gamestracker.com or visit gamesnash.ie, thehut.co.uk and sendit.co.uk. The PS3 plays more types of media files and allows you to copy music and photos to your hard drive, which the 360 does not. You can attach a removable hard drive/mp3 player to both consoles though to access photos/music/videos.

The 360 is quite loud compared to my PS3, but by installing games onto the 360 hard drive you can avoid most of the noise. The PS3 has built in wireless whereas with the 360 you have to buy an adapter - you can connect via wired connection on both consoles.

The 360 is cheaper if you don't need any of the extra stuff, as with everything shop around to get a good bundle. I've heard HMV have the best bundles for the PS3 Slim and 360 Elite.
