So I was caught for drink driving a few months back and got banned for 2years, I basically want advice to know if I can appeal my case sooner than half the time or 3/4. I just want to know is it actually possible to appeal it anytime, even if you are sure you would get refused. Thanks

afaik you have to wait exactly 1 year later from the start of the ban to appeal it.. ie you have to complete one year.

so its not possible to appeal severity of a case? claiming it was too long under the circumstances?

"If you have been disqualified from driving and wish to apply to the courts for an early restoration of your licence you may do so in person or through your solicitor following payment of the appropriate fee. You may apply for the early restoration of your driving licence only when half of your disqualification period is complete. You cannot, however, appeal convictions involving 3- and 6- month mandatory disqualifications from driving."

So a 2 year ban can be appealed after 1 year.

Under the new rules only people who have been disqualified for the first time for a period of more than 2 years will be allowed to apply to the court to have their disqualification removed and their driving licence restored. At least half of the period of disqualification must have elapsed however, before the person can apply for the restoration of their licence.

If the ban was excatly 2Years and 1day, does that qualify for early restoration after half the time
