Just curious. We have BGRH, fair enough this one is slightly less... male/fart/belch oriented, but what's it for? It's like a cross between AH, BGRH and the Medical forum. Or is it like a oldfashioned barber's shop? Didn't see a charter so thought I'd ask. I'll probably be back no matter what though :D

To be honest, I don't know.

I just discovered it in the last few days & liked the vibe of it.

It's just like a little known oasis tucked away somewhere that you don't see anymore.

    Like Snugs in pubs.

    Where'd you see one last?

As far as I know, it's a rebranding of the Mens Health forum to include more social issues and activities aswell as general well being.

It's the Ladies Lounge. For boys.

I think it was Trout that said, the tone of the forum will be set by its users,so in essence, its whatever you want it to be,within reason of course.:pac:

The threads in the old forum where like a load of teenage lads in a pub, they all got locked too easily:D.

This forum is just so cool, no egos, no smart arses, no dominering alfa males belittling posters with a different view of life than they have.

Its like the ultimate pub without the booze.

Even the Mods can let their hair down here, thats if they have any.

btw. Dont mind me I'm a little drunk.

    Drunken lucidity and all.:o. bye.

I think that this is a good forum but think that we are going to miss a Mens Health forum
At least that forum was dedicated to issues that most men do not discuss or read up on generally.

The ladies may be mature enough to have their health issues in the LL but do you think that us guys are?

FFS there should at least be token health sticky about Testicular Cancer and how to check your balls, eben better by putting the Rachel Stevens vid linked there

    +1

I really found that thread useful. Taught me a few useful things. Maybe Sticky useful health threads as they appear?

Or create a general 'health' sticky, and if there's any useful threads, the original post can be copied and put into the sticky... So they're there as a reference and as a discussion...?

(Is quite easy to do with the new modutils too :) )

thanks for the suggestions lads, keep em coming.

the thing with stickies is that, very often you can end up with a load of stickies up top of the first page, bumping new threads off. Nevertheless, we'll discuss anything that comes up here within the Mod group and get back to you on the things that we think would benefit and help the forum along.

As always you all free to PM ideas to any one of us for discussion etc.

    Thanks again

    MM

That's why I quite like being able to stick other threads into one, and just keeping it locked as a reference. Tbh, it dosn't apply yet - There really aren't enough threads on mens health at the moment to make it work, but it's something to bear in mind for the future :)

Also, just to say 'nice one' on the forum. Tbh, I was incredibly sceptical before/when it started as to how it was going to work out. As much as the BGRH forum is fun for all involved, I was very worried this was going to head the same way and become a subforum of it. Gratz :)

I like to think of this place where guys can ask guy type questions and not get ridiculed in anyway and have their question take serious - if it is a serious question.

The book club is also a great idea - although I am yet to get my hands on the current selection.

    I like it :)

Dont post as often; but good read like. Not a social forum per se ala BGRH/tLL and it works so far.

what about an index of the important topics, and sticky that?

like a general Men's Health Topics thread that will have each topic/thread linked from one post?

Amazon have it on special offer ... I ordered it today, for 4 pounds sterling.

    Very good.
Also maybe, in the index sticky have a link to the "official Site", related to the subject
    Such as
Testicular Cancer: Government/Health organisation web site
