well lads, whats the story with my ticket for sunday saying the nally and all the lads saying the hill? like all the way up along it was just for the hill, does this mean we have to split up?

Yes you will have to split up unless your mates go to the Nally with you or the stewards in question just scan the ticket and not bother pulling you up on the different ticket. The Nally is basically section C of the Hill.I went to the Dublin v Tyrone game last year with my father but I had a Hill ticket and my father had a Nally ticket. The stewards wouldn't let us both in the Hill but had no hesitation letting us both in the Nally which if your mates don't mind, they should do for you.The Nally is basically the same atmosphere as you get on the Hill seen as how it is really part of it.

The other alternative is to try and climb over the cement wall but it can be dangerous and is harder to climb than it looks.

Okay might be a stupid question...but is the hill now divided up into different sections now like?? or does every hill ticket entitle you to go anywhere in the hill???

You can go anywhere on the Hill as long as certain places aren't full. But sure as long as you aren't up the side of the Nally you look like you are in the Hill anyway and get the atmosphere. Will they give Tipp fans the Hill tickets and the KK fans the Nally or vice versa. I'd say You could get a way better atmosphere if they did that. Twud be a bit like Thurles on Munster final day with one team at one end and the other team at the other and a good mix in the stands

Hill 16 is divided into section A and B.Having a Hill ticket entitles you to go to either section.Section A is the corner part of the Hill beside the Cusack stand while section B is the main part of the Hill which stretches over from the Cusack sideline to just before the Hogan stand sideline. The next section over is the Nally which essentially and in reality is section C and is the corner beside the Hogan stand.

The fence is quite easy to hop over, you could stick your leg over it. I've seen old lads do it before. Having a Nally ticket is handy if it rains, you can get shelter under the big screen.:)

Tried the same trick myself to see if me and a mate could get into the Hill but no luck, stewards said no (politely I might add). Didn't fancy trying to climb into the Hill from the Nally as didn't want to get horsed out of Croke Park.

Its not totally split, you can conceivably climb the wall which is about chest height as far as I remember.Just be careful as it is more awkward than it looks and the folks that sold you the ticket wouldn't have even contemplated this fact I am sure.

ya but I don't wanna get kicked out and miss the all ireland! I was on to my Uncle who's a bit of a GAA fat cat and he told me not to worry and they would let me on the hill

I am quite sure a lot of fans would tell you to shut up worrying and resent you for having a ticket in the first place. It depends on the day and the person who is stewarding. Some are fussy, others couldn't be arsed.

In case you don't get in the Hill, your mates should try and get into the Nally. The stewards usually go for the easier option which would be to distribute your gang into less congested areas rather than the other way around to accomodate you all being together.

where is the best place to stand on the hill or nally to get the best possible view? are you better off at the side or directly behind the goals. is there more shelter at the side as the stand should be sheltering you from wind?

I'd prefer to be on the hill cause I want to be in the thick of the athmosphere, for shelter and view probably to any of the sides. Maybe the nally more because of the screen.

If i remember correct the nally and the hill meet behind the goal.

You will have a little bit more room on the hally

If you are on the Hill,I strongly advise you to enter into section B and head up the steps to the right of the entrance (the entrance closest to the sandwich and burger shop under the Hill) and go up as far as 27 I think. This is where me,Mullet and Popebenny16 go for Dublin games. It will leave you right in line with the Cusack stand sideline and you get a better view of points going over on both sides and an acute angle view of players closing in in Hill 16 goal and points going over.
