Yes from my memory you need to loosen the motor. There should be a track to slide the motor up and down.

Thanks for the response Joey the lips

I got it after a big struggle
tried lossening the motor but it didnt make any difference !

i just persisted with a pipe grips levering the belt and eventually i got it on the motor wheel !

Unfortunately it didnt solve the problem
    the machine still wont spin.

more googling needs to be done:pac:
    any ideas

Sounds like the drum is stuck and that was the cause of the belt snapping. Can you spin the drum with your hand. I had a sock stuck in mine and the drum would spin, but then randomly come to an abrupt jarring stop.

No the drum will spin with my hand,

did a bit a googling and think it could be the carbon brushes
I am going to open it up again and have a look at them

    thanks for the reply

no problem. Good luck with it. I wouldn't say that the brushes going, and the belt snapping are related. Could just have been your unlucky day! :). Perhaps when the belt snapped the motor over ran because there was no resistance.... just a thought.
