jobseeker allowance

    Hi there,

I work part time and receive a jobseeker allowance. My boss said due to the current financial climate that I will have to take a pay cut. I seem to have no choice in the matter as the cut has already taken effect.
My colleagues are in the same boat though they are full time.

The problem is that last year I received a small rise in salary but I have discovered that my boss did not inform the Social welfare of the increase and I have been getting a payment based on a lower salary for the last year.
If I approach the Social welfare about getting an increase because of the salary cut they will notice the discrepancy.

So basically, 1 - I have been overpaid by the social welfare
    2 - They may require a repayment (almost a €1000)
3 - I may not get an increase because of this blunder.

Who is liable here? Is my boss responsible for informing SW or am I?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Melanie.

Am sorry about this, but the reality here is that you've identified your problem here and you should remedy it yourself.

Your employer should have notified this accordingly.

    Tom
