focus boot problem

i have a 05 saloon focus and the boot wont open some times, a few months ago i changed the switch and lock in the boot but now the button on the key wont even open the boot, anyone come across this problem before

This was a common problem on the Focus I had too but it never entirely jammed on me. What happens is that water leaks into the lock mechanism due to a poorly designed drainage system on the boot.

I had to have the lock replaced by a Ford garage, apparently Ford made a better sealed lock unit for the Focus from 2007 onwards. I managed to get some good will from Ford too on the cost to replace it.

I guess your first problem is to get the boot open though so it might be worth giving a Ford garage a ring, I'm sure yours isn't the first one to get jammed.
