    Hi guys,
    Myself and a mate are heading over to Newcastle on Sept 19th to see a newcastle game / have a night on the razz.

    I've got 2 questions;

    1) Can anybody recommend central, cheap accomodation....not fussed on quality but price and proximity to the city centre is important

    2) Is there some big event on the weekend we are going as it seems that a lot of places are already booked up?

    Thanks!!

    Stayed in the Quality hotel Newgate street last year, a good central location . The reviews for the place on tripadvisor etc are terrible though, but the room we had was fine. The hotel is a bit old and dated in places alright.

    Great North Run on in Newcastle on Sunday 20th. It's the biggest Half-Marathon in the world.... 55,000 people running. Might find it a little difficult to get something! Good luck.
