Claiming tax back

    Hi guys,

    This question has probably been answered here somewhere before but I can't find it. I'm sure i'm due tax back from previous years and am wondering if I request balancing statements for say the last 5 years, can I then submit them with a request asking if i'm owed anything? I'm also unemployed since May so if I send in a p50 will that just calculate any refund I might be due for this year since Jan 1st? And do they send out refunds mid year?

    Any help would be appreciated! :)

    Hi,

    If you request reviews (P21 Balancing Statements) going back to 2005, if anything is due back, Revenue will send it automatically. You don't have to send the review (balancing statement) back. The review is given to show your liability for the year, and how its arrived at.

    The P50 is the correct form to claim tax back during unemployment. It is possible to get some tax back mid - year when unemployed.

    send in your p50 i think they go back 3 years if you got redundancy you get back a lot of d tax u paid on dat next year

    Thanks guys, appreciate the help :) Will i have trouble getting my p45 back from them when I send it in, just in case i get a job in the meantime?

    i think a copy will do i went to d tax office to claim mine and i old her i wanted my p45 bk and she just photo copied it for herself
