Hey there - looks like everything's more a less settled now with just the last few small details to be put to bed before the day. We're hoping an Indian summer might break out to see us with some sunnyish (or even just dry) weather for it.

Hopefully everyone who comes down will enjoy the cycle. There's some nice testing bits of road on it and if the day's good some pretty scenic views along the way also.

To those intending to take part - see you on the 19th

A little late with the reply but well done to all the organisers, I had a great day even though it did rain a bit at the start. Will definitely go down again if it becomes a yearly event.

This was my fourth time cycling up Conor's pass and first time doing it without stopping. Got a puncture on the way down which was a little scary at 60+ km/hr otherwise me and bike held up quiet well. The overall pace seemed very high and wished my speedo didn't decide to stop working on the morning so i could've clocked my time!

Thanks for the kind words, we are really happy with how the event turned out (despite the soggy start!). The weather came good in the end and from an organisational point of view we couldn't be happier with the marshalling, support and participants.

We had 104 riders for the day which was just perfect for the day that was in it and the calibre of those that took part and the way they kept to a compact tidy group even impressed the Garda support who reckoned you were one of the most disciplined groups they'd seen.

The pace was a bit on the high side at the front alright but we knew we couldn't strictly control it either due to the general level of participants fitness being so high at the end of the season (I made the 'error' of going near the front for that last climb myself and got dropped in a ferocious way myself - I think someone said 'hammer time!' as they passed me....).

We're hoping that we will keep it going now, we've our dates requested for the 2010 C.I. calendar and we're introducing a second nice BIG route on the cards for anyone who wants an even bigger day out in the Dingle Peninsula as an option also.

Also if anyone who took part has any comments/sugestions on things we did well or not so well to take forward throw me a PM and we'll see if we cant improve things further in 2010.
