What driver would you recommend?

I got fitted for a Nike driver and put a deposit down, but unfortunately I didn't work out. Waiting over two months so I called it a day.

Anyway, if you were buying a driver, what would you go for overall?

I have good clubhead speed and am pretty straight on a good day. Driving would be my strength, usually, but can be a bit wild also. I play off 10.

The Nike I was fitted for was going to be a Platinum pro launch X-flex with a 9.5 deg loft.

    Difficult question.

If you don't slice then that cuts down the options (a lot of drivers are "draw biased"). I like the Titleist drivers as they tend to be "neutral".

Many people who use them like the Ping drivers.

I know a guy who got a Slazenger K1 driver and it has transformer his driving - now that's a driver that I wouldn't have chosen.

Drivers, putters, wedges - they tend to be personal choice so take all the advice here and then ignore it.

I bought a cheap secondhand Taylormade R5, 8.5 regular flex there recently to try it out. Wasn't sure the 8.5 would suit me. My god did it make some difference, i'm hitting the ball dead straight 99% of the time and have gotten a lot of extra yards as well (i know everyone says this but for me it worked!)

But as said above, diffent horses for different courses - go try some out!!

    OP,
There is only one thing for certain when asking for recommendations and advice online and that is that you'll get loads of opinions and plenty of misinformation and end up being more confused than you were before you started, if your serious about getting a driver that suits you then the only way to go is to get custom fit.
Btw I recommend the G2,G5,G10, Callaway BB, Callaway BB diablo, R9, R7, Burner and all of then with light , regular and stiff shafts and half a degree open or is that closed? damn I'm not sure, ah feck it try them all.

The brother bought a Taylormade Burner recently (not sure of the spec) but I manage to hit most of my drives straight and defo adds 20/30 yards onto any driver I have ever used. Some smack off it as well! I'm going to invest.

But as said already, this is my opinion so the best way is to try a few out.
